John R. Ramirez, Sr., 79, of Brighton, died Aug. 8. He was born in Erie, May 28, 1936, to Innocencio and Francisca Ramirez. John married Albinita Ortega Jan. 2, 1959, in Lafayette.
John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years; daughters, Joan (Gary) Medina, Anita (Donald) Padilla, Julie (John) Macias, Regina (her fiancée Mark) Ramirez and Maria Ramirez; son, John Ramirez; grandchildren, Erica, Andrew, Robert, Steven, Krystal, Kenny, Michael, Brittni, David, Stefanie, Jordan, Angelika, Janessa,, David Jr. and Noah; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will take place at 6 p.m., Aug. 13, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 178 S. Sixth Ave., Brighton. A Rosary follows at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial starts at 11 a.m., Aug. 14, followed by interment at Elmwood Cemetery.
