Cpl. Grant Ewing was laid to rest Oct. 19, with full military honors, by the 299th Brigade Engineer Battalion Honor Guard, based in Fort Carson. Ewing, who was captured during the Korean War in 1950, died Feb. 28, 1951, in a communist Chinese prisoner of war camp. Identified July 29 of this year by the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC), in Hawaii, Ewing’s remains finally found their final resting place in the family plot his brother purchased for him two decades ago.
