Castle Rock Town Councilman Jay Richards has completed the
requirements to receive the Municipal Elected Officials Leadership
Training pin from the Colorado Municipal League.
Richards was among more than 300 municipal elected officials
statewide who have completed the initial 30-credit certificate
program. He is among 90 statewide who have completed the second
segment.
By acquiring 60 hours of leadership training, he is the
recipient of a specially designed CML leadership pin presented
during the CML District 3 meeting Sept. 29 in Thornton.
The Municipal Elected Officials Leadership Training Program
started in January 1991 by the league’s executive board to
recognize the efforts of officials who go the extra mile to
increase their knowledge of municipal government and their capacity
to lead. Any municipal elected official, mayor, council member and
trustee can participate in the leadership training program. More
than 350 elected officials participate in the program.
Participants have up to six years from the date of enrollment to
obtain any or all of the three levels of the program.
