An unidentified driver received minor injuries after a man fleeing police crashed into their vehicle June 26 near I-70 and Lowell Boulevard.
Westminster Police said they were in the area of 70th Avenue and Utica Street at about 7:10 p.m. investigating a suspicious vehicle operated by a male driver when the man intentionally rammed his car into a marked patrol vehicle and then fled the scene.
Officers pursued the car to the area of I-70 and Lowell Boulevard but terminated the pursuit briefly when they lost sight of the suspect. However, soon after, the suspect crashed into another vehicle.
Officers responded to the crash scene as the suspect fled on foot. A K9 was deployed and the suspect was apprehended.
The man was found to have multiple felony warrants for his arrest. The driver that the suspect crashed into sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene. Both of the officers involved were not injured during the incident.
