Improve public transit Ensure affordable housing options are available as our property values continue to rise. 4) I would like to see locally owned businesses keeping money here in Westminster. I would also like to see affordable housing with rent control, so that everyone who works in our city can afford to live here too. I want local shuttlebus routes which connect all of our neighborhoods to the new development, the new light rail and each other, so that residents and visitors can get around town easily and safely, especially our seniors who no longer drive. I also dream of a thriving nightlife to attract younger talent, developed in such a way as to protect surrounding communities from noise. 5) The southern area of Adams County has clearly been neglected. I was appalled by the council’s reaction to this year’s flooding, which was essentially that we cannot legislate the weather. That’s true, but we can build better drainage, and we should never turn our backs on our neighbors when they need our help.
