Frederick tree inventory

FREDERICK — Did you know there are 1,454 trees on the Town of Frederick property?

That number was discovered after completing a tree inventory of town-owned and maintained parks, open space, and greenways. In addition to the number of trees, each tree was assessed to identify the tree species, document them in a database, and write a descriptive narrative to identify the quality and care needs for each tree.

To check out what information was compiled, go online to www.cotreeview.com and make the following selections: (1) Explore in the Map; (2) in the select organization area, choose the Town of Frederick; (3) Click Go to the Map. This will show one colored dot for each tree with the color of the dot indicating the tree species. Site visitors can click on a dot and see the information that was entered specific to that tree.
