FORT LUPTON — The Fort Lupton Chamber of Commerce and the city of Fort Lupton are encouraging residents to go onto the city’s website to check out a new promotional video.

The slickly produced video aims viewers to “dig a little deeper” into what Fort Lupton has to offer.

“I think the ultimate goal of the video is to promote economic development, while also letting folks know a little more about the City of Fort Lupton,” said assistant city manager Aaron Herrera. “As for the whole ‘dig a little deeper theme,’ I think a lot of folks — myself included when I went to school at the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley —  drive by Fort Lupton and see the Burger King and the hotel and maybe think that’s all we have to offer. But ‘dig a little deeper’ is a metaphor that translates to ‘take a closer look at what we have to offer here in Fort Lupton.”

The video was produced by Black Diamond Media Production, a northern Colorado media company that has produced similar videos for another southern Weld County community, Frederick, as well as Southlands Shopping Center, in Aurora.

Herrera said the company was also on site over the past year shooting footage of the city’s annual Trapper Days festival, and the Old Fashioned Fourth of July event, which was in its second year this past Independence Day.

“We were comfortable using them again because they have an established track record with us, plus we saw the work they did with Frederick and we liked it,” Herrera said. “We wanted our own thing, and we think they accomplished what we set out to do, which is send the message that we are a city open for business.”

The two-minute video, full of images from throughout Fort Lupton that include local businesses, schools, historic sites and more, can be viewed on the homepage of Fort Lupton’s website at www.FortLupton.org.
