Platteville outlasted Fort Lupton in 11-8 in 11 innings to capture the 4 Star Senior Tournament baseball championship in Commerce City July 21.
“Both teams showed great sportsmanship, determination and teamwork during the nearly four-hour contest,” said Josh Polgar, the youth sports coordinator for the Commerce City Parks and Recreation Department.
Both of Commerce City’s entries advanced to the semifinals before they were eliminated.
