Dora West, 87, of Thornton, passed away Oct. 4, 2012, at North Suburban Hospital. She was born March 14, 1925, in St. Albans, W.Va. She earned a teaching degree from Ohio State University and worked as a teacher in California for 20 years.
    She is survived by her children, Wray West, of Hampton, N.H., Larry West, of San Jose, Calif., and Cindy Howeth, of Brighton; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Private services will be held by the family. Erlinger Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
