If it’s not one thing it’s another for the volunteers at
Adoptable Animal Rescue Force. Just when things were going rather
well for the rescue group, a foreclosure on a home in Teller County
threw a wrench into their good deeds. Now, with no permanent
facility for their rescues, AARF has been housing the dogs in a
temporary facility.

This week, the lender on the facility repossessed the home as
well as the kennels, giving AARF 24-hour notice to find a place for
the dogs, four of them.

Keith Mckim, who owns the Florissant Kennels, provided shelter
for three of the dogs, with the other going to a foster home.

With a $40 a day food bill for the dogs in Florissant, plus the
need for more foster homes, AARF has put out a plea. “I’ m spending
a lot of time these days telling people we just can’t take in dogs
right now,” said Dottie Brennan, an AARF volunteer. “We need
help.”
