Business district provides $57,000 in grant assistance

Wheat Ridge Business District (WRBD) is pleased to announce that Patrick Nichols Associates, LLC, has received $57,000 in grant assistance for façade and property improvements at 7700 West 44th Ave. through the WRBD.

Jeanne Nichols and Patrick Gooch, the owners of ModMood and Retro Consignment, are pleased with their growing businesses and the completed improvements. Nichols said the central location and easy access to the metro Denver community was a key factor in the opening of our business in Wheat Ridge. The City of Wheat Ridge, Wheat Ridge 2020 and the Wheat Ridge Business District played an important role of the revitalization of our property at 7700 W. 44th Ave.”

Mayor and WRBD board member Jerry DiTullio added, “I am very excited about our local efforts to assist businesses through the Revitalization Incentive Program. This is just one of the many exciting things happening in Wheat Ridge as a result of our efforts to reposition the community and to be open for business.”

The WRBD had a pool of funds available through Jefferson County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for projects that meet CDBG criteria. Wheat Ridge 2020, which provides program administration for the WRBD, was able to work with Patrick Nichols Associates and Jefferson County Community Development to find a project match and Jefferson County committed additional CDBG funds to the WRBD and the project. Project property improvements included substantial façade and entry improvements as well as updated signage.
