Canyons Community Church opens its door
When Canyons Community Church opened to the community April 10,
it marked the transformation of a once-vacant residence into an
all-new worship center.
The original centerpiece of the 14-acre property was a home,
which has since been remodeled and expanded to offer churchgoers a
6,100-square-foot multipurpose facility that includes a welcome
area/coffee bar, office and meeting space, children’s classrooms,
and a 140-seat assembly hall/worship area.

Break-a-thon raises nearly $13,000 for Children’s
Han Lee’s Taekwondo Academy raised nearly $13,000 for the
Children’s Hospital at its Break-a-thon April 2 at the Douglas
County Events Center. The event also raised $2,800 for the Japan
Relief Fund. Next year’s break-a-thon is slated for the second
weekend of April with a little more fanfare than usual to generate
more awareness and eventually collect more donations.
