Imagine what you
can find at Safeway
A woman returning home from vacation on Feb. 7 found that her red pickup truck was missing from its usual location next to her house. Police didn’t have any leads. Seven days later, the woman called police and said she found her truck in the parking lot of the Idaho Springs Safeway. The truck’s side wing window had been broken, but the spare keys were still safe and secure under the floor mat.
Killer tortilla
Police responded to a disturbance call between a man who allegedly had a knife and a woman who had locked herself in the bathroom after being advised by dispatch to do so. When police arrived, the man walked into the living room to greet them holding a tortilla. The cops asked the man to put down the tortilla and when he complied, they handcuffed him. When they asked him where the knife was, he replied, “What knife? The one I was cutting my dinner with?” Apparently the man was the woman’s employee, and an argument had broken out over wages. Police decided the woman wasn’t truly concerned for her safety and did not arrest the man. However the man was arrested on a felony warrant for his arrest from Denver.
