Faith set to host

It wasn’t a big surprise Faith Christian Academy’s boys basketball team will be at home in Arvada for the first two rounds of the Class 3A state tournament. The three-time defending state champions will face No. 32 seed Denver School of Science & Tech (12-11 record) at 5 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Faith’s Ward Road campus. A win would put the Eagles (21-1) into the second round where they would face the winner of Bayfield (11-8)/University (14-8) at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5. Barring a major upset, Faith will head to Colorado State University’s Moby Arena in Fort Collins for the state quarterfinals Thursday, March 10.

Faith’s girls squad grabbed the No. 11 seed and will travel to Estes Park High School for the first two round of the 3A girls basketball tournament. The Eagles (15-6) face Brush (15-7) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 4.
