The Colorado Federation of Music Clubs selected four Douglas
County students as the 2009 state top performers in the piano solo
category.
Four Tamminga Piano Studio students won top honors at
federation’s state competition. In addition, three students were
awarded honorable mention. Winners were Abbey Hildenbrand, Colin
Kolbus, Dylan Kolbus and Erin Kroetch. Honorable mentions were
Haley Hildenbrand, Jackie Jenkins and Jack Meyers.
4-H Club collects animal hair to make mats
Parker Barkers 4H Club is collecting animal fur, wool, feathers
and hair. Pet hair can be collected and turned into an organic mat
that soaks up oil spills off the coast of California and other
coastal states. Drop off the hair from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays at
the Bunny Barn at Douglas County Fairgrounds. Call
