Members of Girl Scout Troop 2507, of Castle Rock, conducted a
drive-through cookie booth sale Feb. 28 at a parking lot at 407 S.
Wilcox St. In the photo, Sabrina, a Girl Scout from the troop,
delivers cookies to one of the troop’s customers.

The Castle Rock Kohl’s A-Team worked Feb. 26 to raise money for
Katrina’s Angels and the Douglas-Elbert Task Force Thrift Store.
Katrina’s Angels resource director Robin Peak joined A-Team manager
Doreen Lawrence and associates Shirley Ellis, Joan Noren, Roberta
Otto, and Darren Startz to be helping hands to the store for a
day.

The Douglas-Elbert Task Force Thrift Store and Food Bank helps
thousands of people each year who are in danger of homelessness and
hunger; 50 percent are children. Katrina’s Angels empowers
volunteers and organizations nationwide to work together to support
those people affected by natural disasters in the United
States.

In return for participation in this event, volunteers for
Katrina’s Angels were allowed to post information about its
organization throughout the store and give out keychains and
lollipops inscribed with the group’s name and Web site.

In addition to participating in this event, the Castle Rock
division of Kohl’s has donated $500 to Katrina’s Angels Underwear
and Sox Campaign, which benefits children who are victims of
natural disasters living in the Gulf Coast.

Katrina’s Angels community angel volunteer Jim Bartz and his
sister Caroline Bartz, donated a premium quality steam cleaner to
the thrift store.

Kohl’s A-Team heroes across the country help local organizations
in their area that focus on benefiting children.
