The month of January will bring you computer classes on basic
skills taught by Jason Dwyer at the library. You may choose from
two class times: 11 a.m., Jan. 3 or Jan. 10. This class will cover
Internet searching, e-mail and other features like right click
functions and necessary maintenance functions. Beginners are
encouraged to attend. Dwyer will answer your questions and guide
you through your computer challenges. Registration is required as
space is limited. Register in the library or by calling the library
at 719-541-2573.
“Creative Story Time” is an enriching service for pre-school
children and their parents/caregivers that meets at 1 p.m. every
Tuesday. Story time is a way for parents/caregivers to engage and
bond with their children as the children gain essential life-long
building blocks for learning and reading. The interactive nature of
story time with Miss Carol strongly encourages parent/caregiver
involvement with creative movement to songs and a craft each week
based on the stories read. Each story time presents different
weekly themes, and the first theme in January will be “Our
Endangered Whales” on Jan. 6. The rest of January’s story times
will celebrate a children’s author’s birthday: Jan. 13, “Mother
Goose” in honor of author Charles Perrault; Jan. 20 “Winnie the
Pooh” in honor of A.A. Milne; and “Alice’s Adventures in
Wonderland” in honor of Lewis Carrol on Jan. 27.
