The Dumb Friends League Buddy Center Paws to Give fund drive is
nearing its end. In addition to monetary gifts, the Dumb Friends
League is also in need of supplies to help care for the animals.
The Buddy Center in Castle Rock is in particular need of things
such as laundry detergent, dryer sheets, window cleaner, paper
towels and more. Visit ddfl.org for a
complete list of items needed.

Douglas County Libraries is going green in its efforts to clean
up our neighborhoods and save money. From now on, plastic bags are
no longer available at the libraries. Patrons are encouraged to
bring their own bags, or they can purchase an attractive, blue,
reusable bag at the library for $1 plus tax.

In the new year, Douglas County Libraries will continue to
feature the work of local artists. Parker Library is proud to
welcome Colorado artist Judi Prentice. She works in oils, acrylics,
and watercolors, enjoying the challenges each medium brings. Her
work will be at the library through January.

Philip S. Miller Library will display the work of local artist
Mary Mellot through Jan. 26. The show is titled “Visions and
Dreams.” See more of Mellot’s work at www.stlukes.net/mellot.
