Luke Tokaruk, of Aiken, S.C., and his horse Lucius 35 clear an
obstacle in the jump-off July 12 during the $25,000 High Prairie
Grand Prix at The Colorado Horse Park in Parker. Tokaruk was one of
four riders who advanced to the final round, which included his
brother, Michael Tokaruk. Armando Hassey, riding La Roche, took
second and Bjorn Ikast, onboard Brave Heart, took third. The event
kicked off the horse park’s Triple Crown, which offers a $100,000
bonus to any rider and horse that can win all three stadium jumping
events. The next one will be the $40,000 American Grand Prix
Association’s Rocky Mountain Grand Prix at 5:30 p.m. July
19.
