The Lone Tree Police Department has issued arrest warrants for
two individuals suspected of fraud.
The suspects, Kevin James Adams, 31, and Michele A. Walker, 28,
were allegedly writing a high number of bad checks in the name of
fake businesses at three Douglas County locations – American
Furniture Warehouse, Sam’s Club and Costco – and at the Apple store
in Littleton over a four-day period in January.
On Feb. 22, the Lone Tree Police Department Investigations
Division conducted a search warrant at the suspects’ residence in
Aurora.
The search warrant was carried out in connection with a fraud
investigation, according to police reports.
With the help of the Aurora Police Department, $16,757.30 worth
of fraudulently purchased items was recovered from the residence,
including televisions, furniture, games and other items.
The suspects have left the Aurora residence, and their
whereabouts are unknown at this time.
Bond for Adams has been set at $250,000. Walker’s bond is
$6,000.
