Woman extradited on drug charges
A Michigan woman living in Golden has been returned to Michigan to face drug charges that police say are linked to a teenager’s drug overdose in August.
Kristine Westfall, 47, is charged on a two-count felony warrant with delivery of less than 50 grams of methadone, and with possession of less than 25 grams of methadone, the Muskegon Chronicle reported.
The preliminary examination will take place Feb. 22.
Westfall is one of four people charged by Michigan police after an investigation into the Aug. 12 death of the teen in Fruitport, Mich.
The teen was found dead from “mixed-drug intoxication.”
Authorities said he had methadone, alcohol, marijuana and an over-the-counter cough suppressant in his system when he died.
The teaen bought the methadone from Westfall, police said.
Police said Westfall fled to Colorado to avoid being arrested. She has been in Colorado custody since Nov. 28.
