Rams sign scholarships
Green Mountain High School seniors Jeb Brovsky, Traci Dreesen, Candice Chase and Mark Salanky signed their national letter of intent Wednesday, Feb. 7, on National Signing Day. Brovsky will continue his soccer career at the University of Notre Dame. Dreesen heads to the University of Georgia after she finishes up her high school soccer career with the Rams this spring. Chase will stay in state and play basketball at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Salanky will play football at Mesa State College in Grand Junction.
CCU in playoff contention
Colorado Christian University’s mens basketball team finds itself in the thick of the postseason hunt. Back-to-back Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victories against Regis University (59-37) and the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs (81-69) Friday and Saturday, Feb. 9 and 10, puts the Cougars in position to take one of the eight playoff spots. Colorado Christian (11-12, 6-9 in RMAC) is tied with Colorado School of Mines for the final playoff spot for the RMAC tournament with four conference games left.
Aguirre’s big night not enough to pull a win
Colorado Christian’s womens basketball team lost a pair of home games to Regis and CU-Colorado Springs over the weekend. Freshman Talmai Aguirre had 23 points in a 72-68 loss Saturday, Feb. 10, to Regis. The Cougars (7-16, 3-12) are sixth in the RMAC’s East Division.
