Matt Call, director of golf at Woodmoor Pines Golf and Country
Club, was awarded the Player of the Year award by the Colorado
Section of the Professional Golfers Association of America
Saturday, Nov. 11 at Columbine Country Club. “It is a tremendous
honor to receive this award from the Colorado PGA and a nice way to
leave the industry,” Call said. The Colorado Section PGA presents
the award to the Class A player that accumulates the most points at
Colorado Section events throughout the year. This award comes one
year after Call was awarded the Apprentice Player of the Year by
the Colorado Section of the PGA.
Call also announced his decision to pursue a new venture outside
of the golf industry and his duties at WPGCC and KDGC. Starting
Jan. 1, 2007, Matt will assume a position in commercial brokerage
with CB Richard Ellis in Denver. “I am very excited and look
forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead with
CBRE.” he said.
Brian Green, a 1984 Lewis-Palmer High School graduate, has been
appointed by Governor Bill Owens to the Park County Court in the
11th Judicial District.
Green, a deputy district attorney in Fairplay, will be sworn in
as County Judge Jan. 9, 2007. He, his wife Kim, and his stepson
Kyle live in Jefferson. His parents, Louis and Lois Green live in
Wakonda Hills.
Twice each year, during the fall and the spring, Monument Hill
Sertoma members conduct a highway cleanup along Interstate 25
between County Line Road and Highway 105. At that same time
Lewis-Palmer High School Serteens perform a cleanup of the
Park-and-Ride parking lot and the area to its north. This year’s
cleanup was held Saturday, Nov. 4.
