Heads up to the Town of Parker for the beautifully refurbished
O’Brien Park and all it’s many social events that it offers.
However, it displays a potentially hazardous if not fatal flaw.

The sidewalk on the south side empties out into the busy
visually challenged Mainstreet. Although a designated cross walk
with manual flashing lights exists a few yards away in front of the
WarHorse Inn, pedestrians, (whom are mostly adults with small
children) are not using the crosswalk and scurry across in front of
our store, stopping traffic and jeopardizing lives.

I am a personal witness to this during at least 8 hours a day as
my family owns and operates the Baskin Robbins directly across the
street. I have put signs on my doors urging my customers to please
keep their children safe and use the designated cross wal., but to
no avail. I find myself holding my breath as mothers, small
children, strollers and toddlers make the mad dash across
traffic.

I have pleaded with the town and have gotten no where. A sign at
the converge of the sidewalks, a railing or any type of pedestrian
detour would at least be something. It would be a town tragedy if
the park, our store, or any of the other town attractions were a
factor in the death of a pedestrian.
