As part of the summer mission outreach for Monument Hill Church,
led by Pastor Brad Cowger, the congregation was asked to submit
nominations for a home makeover to be done in August. Eddy
Woodruff’s name was submitted by Jack Souders. He stated he drove
by Woodruff’s house weekly while picking up kids at the Mountain
View Mobile Home Park and taking them to church. Work began about
one month ago and was completed Aug. 12. Forest Ridge Church joined
and was a part of the outreach by painting the kitchen and
installing a new floor.
Outside of the house, trim and boards were removed and replaced
and a shed was dismantled. The house was scraped, caulked, pressure
washed and painted. Screen windows were replaced and the fence was
painted.
Woodruff has some disabilities and lives by herself.
Her husband has Alzheimers and is in a nursing home. Woodruff
picked out the colors for her house and was very appreciative. The
day was topped off by giving her a birthday cake. Her birthday was
Aug. 13.
