Title dreams take a hit
The Arvada West High School boys basketball team’s hopes for a Class 5A Jeffco League title took a huge nosedive Friday at Arvada High School. The rival Reds (9-11, 3-4 in league) knocked the Wildcats (12-6, 5-2) off the top of the conference standings with a 54-46 win. Senior Sean Lofland had a game-high 27 points in Arvada’s biggest conference victory of the season.
Coaching job open
Arvada West High School is accepting resumes for the head varsity softball coach position. A teacher position is also possible. Flag football fun
North Jeffco Park and Recreation is taking registration for its spring men’s flag football league. There will be recreational and competitive divisions. Deadline to register is Feb. 24. For more information call 303-403-2553.
