Stack runs for Ward 2
Lakewood native and community activist Vicki Stack is running for a Ward 2 seat on the Lakewood City Council.
Stack and her husband, Frank, have run a small business in Lakewood for more than 26 years. She also serves on the Colorado Board of Veterinary Medicine and the Lakewood Citizens for Open Space. She previously served on the West Colfax Community Association, Citizens for Lakewood’s Future and the Eiber Neighborhood Association, among other groups.
Green also on Ward 2 ballot
Lora Green is running for a Ward 2 Lakewood City Council seat. She is a graduate of Jefferson High School who serves as a block captain for a neighborhood watch program and is active in community and city programs. She is particularly concerned about the city’s lack of response to gang crime in her neighborhood.
“My neighborhood has been asking for changes and it has fallen on deaf ears,” she said in a press statement. “While our concerns have been overlooked, our city is asking for more money.
Herbst seeks re-election
Lakewood City Councilwoman Jackie Herbst, 37, announced her intent to run for re-election. Herbst has represented Lakewood’s Ward 3 since July 2001. She said she hopes a second term would bring more responsible budgeting practices to Lakewood’s government. “The sales tax issue is going to get hot this fall,” said Herbst. “I want to continue to address the concerns and issues of my constituents regardless of the tax issue.”
