The Task Force of Douglas County recently received a $11,469.86
grant from The Aloha Trust.
The trustees, who wish to remain anonymous, have directed $5,000
of the gift for the purchase of food for the agency’s food
bank.
The balance of the grant will be applied to the agency’s general
fund for client services.
“We are so pleased that the trustees of The Aloha Trust
recognized the need for food for residents of our community,” said
Suzanne Greene, the task force’s executive director. “Hunger
happens every day and 50 percent of those who use our food bank are
children.
“This gift will really help us over the next few months, but our
need is ongoing. We encourage everyone to make regular donations to
the food bank.”
In addition to food, the food bank accepts diapers, toiletries,
cleaning products and paper products.
