I can empathize with the grocery workers because, like most
Americans, we are having to pay more and more for our health care
while our wages have not kept up.

Health care costs, insurance company profits and CEO salaries
continue to go up while the workers are asked to pay more and more
for less and less. Neither Congress nor the White House seems to be
addressing the issue, one that is critical to almost every middle
and lower class family in America.

Apparently, Washington., D.C., doesn’t care about us. It
certainly would be nice to be one of the guys at the top who get
their health care completely paid for in their contracts –
contracts that give them an average 17 percent a year increase
(when is the last time you got a 17 percent raise?). They then can
turn around and say that all of us who work for them have to make
sacrifices while their lackeys in Washington just nod and give them
another tax cut.

Well, maybe the grocery workers are speaking for all of us when
they say it is time to stop this and time the American working
family gets to at least keep even instead of falling farther and
farther behind.
