Douglas County is fortunate it has so many qualified candidates
for office, but I will be voting for Steve Boand for District 2
county commissioner. There are two main reasons:

* First, Steve knows the district he will be called upon to
represent. He has a long history with the people and issues – from
his work with the Boy Scouts to his deep understanding of water
issues to his time as mayor of Castle Rock. Moreover, he has
contributed to real solutions to local problems.

* Second is that Steve actually lives in the heart of District
2. The county commissioners, as currently elected, are supposed to
represent regions of the county. Quite aside from the people
involved, I don’t think it wise to have all three commissioners
living in a narrow strip along the northern edge of the county.
There are real, significant differences between the communities of
Highlands Ranch, Parker and Castle Rock.

If we want representative government our officials should
actually represent the concerns they live with. Please join me in
supporting Steve Boand for county commissioner.
