Frank Morris’ column, correctly headlined “Blurring of the Bible
and principles” in your June 28 issue really does show the
ineptitude of someone who obviously has not read the Bible, or in
the very least, has his own self-serving sliced and diced
version.
As Frank stands on his weekly Wednesday soapbox, he states how
he is against the sanctity of marriage, putting your wife second
only to God in your life and bringing up your children in a Godly
home. By the way Frank, this is the real message Focus on the
Family teaches, not your demented, uneducated, personalized view of
it.
He says in his column that his wife is equal in the marriage and
then in the same breath publicly criticizes her for her views. As
far as I can tell, it is he who does not have a tolerance for those
who do not think the same as him.
I do not know of any Christian who portrays Frank’s self-defined
version of immorality, such as using the name of God to collect
funds. My friends and family have earned their money by hard work
and dedication, and have given their money freely to such charities
as Food for the Hungry, Compassion International and various
inter-city missions that, for the most part, almost always operate
within the red. Nor do I know of any true believer who thinks of
God as his or her own personal possession. Our church actually does
the opposite of this, trying to reach the lost (Frank, et. al.)
with the saving grace of Jesus Christ, according to the teachings
of the Bible.
Frank tries to infer that the current wars going on were started
as some type of religious war, while Frank “Osama bin” Morris is
sitting at home, salivating as another Western Infidel is beheaded.
Let’s all go to a Bible-preaching church and learn about all of the
Ten Commandments and not Frank’s ignorant self-perceived version of
them.
