Last week we left unanswered the question of who was the last Jeffco high school wrestler to have a chance to go undefeated in four years of grappling. North Jeffco wrestling fans probably remember that it was Tom Clum who attended Pomona from 1997-2000. He lost his last match his senior year in the state championship. On the up side, he got a scholarship to Wisconsin for his efforts.

Another quick bit of trivia: Who was the first to send a bill through the Senate at the Statehouse this year? Hints: It was a 35-0 vote; this person is one of the most respected lawmakers in the state, especially when it comes to education funding; and she’s from Lakewood. Give up? It was Norma Anderson, the Republican from Senate District 22. The bill, SB 11, reforms a program that gives tax breaks to insurance companies.

And from the spam that fills my e-mail box everyday comes this lovely item:

“Get a dergee from a natoinal unviesrity!”

It goes on from there with misspellings throughout.

And the question on the city of Wheat Ridge Web site (ci.wheatridge.co.us) on Monday, Jan. 19: Without a doubt, the Super Bowl winner will be …

Indianapolis Colts

Philadelphia Eagles

Carolina Panthers

New England Patriots

Well, I saw the Pats and Panthers take it to their opponents Sunday, so the field has been narrowed.

I had no sooner agreed to speak at the Jefferson County Republican Women’s meeting next month when a notice appeared on the Jeffco Republican Party Web site noting that Bob Ross was the invited speaker. I hope no one is expecting the deceased painter or someone with a large crop of curly black hair. I fall short in both of those categories. Should be a fun talk.
