Randi Peterson

Randi Peterson of Girl Scout Troop 1447 of Parker was the top
seller of cookies in 2003.

Peterson, along with the other top sellers, was recognized at
the Mile Hi Council’s annual cookie recognition dinner May 8 at the
Denver Marriott Tech Center.

More than $1.3 million from the sale will go directly to the
troops of girls to support camping, trips, community service
projects and other activities.

“The cookie sale not only teaches girls to set goals and achieve
them, but gives the girls opportunities to improve their math and
communication skills,” said Dorothy Gregory, Mile Hi Council
manager of product sales.

This year, Girl Scouts of Mile Hi Council donated 26,000 boxes
of cookies to their hometown heroes.

Each troop selected a hero from their community, and the girls
asked their customers to buy an extra box of cookies as a way of
saying “thank you” to their heroes.

Girl Scouts donated 2,000 more boxes of cookies to community
groups than last year.

The Mile Hi Council is the 12th largest of more than 300 Girl
Scout councils in the country with 36,000 girls.

The council provides a program designed to help girls develop
character, leadership, self-esteem and skills for success in the
real world.
