Michael Higgins
The memorial service was Monday for Michael William Higgins of
Castle Rock, who died Dec. 18 in Castle Rock. He was 51. Interment
will be later at El Toro Memorial Park Cemetery, Lake Forest,
Calif. There was cremation.
Born April 7, 1951, in Los Angeles, he was the son of William L.
and Catherine (Rechie) Higgins. He was raised in Costa Mesa,
Calif., and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam
War.
Mr. Higgins was a Castle Rock employee and worked in building
maintenance. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, backpacking
and traveling. He had lived in Colorado for 10 years and in Castle
Rock for a year and a half.
He is survived by his son, Michael, and his son’s fiance,
Kristen Zimmerman; his mother of Lake Forest; sister Janet Besser
and her husband, Brian, of Lake Forest; and grandson Gabriel
Michael Roy Zimmerman.
Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Funeral Home of Castle Rock made
arrangements.
