A report of two shotgun blasts in Parker at about midnight
Saturday at 12865 Sixth Ave. off Lincoln Avenue is under
investigation, said Douglas County Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy
Bernard Harris.

“We know it was not a driveby,” Harris said. “The shotgun blasts
were in the living room of the house, and it doesn’t appear that
the [two adults who allegedly were involved] were attempting to
target anybody that we know of right now. There’s no clear
motive.”

The two adults were injured slightly by shards of flying glass,
he said. The Parker Fire Protection District responded.

Names, gender and ages are not being released because of the
investigation, he said.

Harris said there are no suspects and no one is in
custody.

While the shooting took place in the vicinity of where sheriff’s
deputy Jason Goulsby was shot and injured by a shotgun blast last
summer, Saturday’s incident had no connection, Harris
confirmed.

A witness traveling east on Lincoln Avenue shortly after the
shooting said First and Third streets in Grandview Estates were
blocked off by approximately eight police cars.

Farther east, three more patrol cars were parked along the
shoulder of westbound Lincoln Avenue and approximately Sixth
Ave.

There were approximately four individuals who appeared to be
teen-agers sitting on the ground between the patrol cars with their
arms behind their backs and they looked to be handcuffed, the
witness said.

“In a situation like that, it’s good police procedure to protect
the area for the investigation,” Harris said.
