Katherine E. Combs

Katherine E. Combs, a 2002 Chaparral High School graduate, has
received a scholarship from the Healthcare Corp. of America
Foundation. She plans to major in business at Colorado State
University. Her awards and activities include National Honor
Society, Link Crew, Continental League Art show finalist, varsity
cheerleading and cheerleading team captain from 2000-02.

She also volunteered with Habitat For Humanity, March of Dimes,
Iron Horse Elementary and Swedish Medical Center. Combs is the
daughter of Kristine Combs, an employee at Swedish.

The scholarship program is offered annually and provides
educational assistance to the children at foundation affiliates
such as Swedish. Recipients are selected competitively based on
academic records and personal achievements and must be enrolled at
accredited colleges, universities and vocational or technical
schools.

This year, the foundation awarded more than 570 scholarships
totaling more than $500,000.
