The preliminary plan for a 71-house development on 15 acres in
the Villages of Parker was approved July 15 by the Parker Town
Council.

The development will be in the south central portion of Villages
of Parker and will line the southern portion of the Mesa Grande
Golf Course.

Proposed lot sizes average 6,662 square feet. About 1 acre will
be used as open space along the outside edges of the
property.

The development lies east Canterberry Parkway, south of
Canterberry Lane and north of Canterberry Trail.

The Villages of Parker area was annexed and zoned in
1994.

The public hearing for Douglas 234 was rescheduled for Aug. 6
because the applicant was not able to attend the meeting. This is
the second time the public hearing for the sketch plan for the
430-home neighborhood has been postponed.

The 234-acre development would also include two school sites,
two parks, a neighborhood commercial site and 25 percent open
space.

The neighborhood is southeast of Newlin Gulch Road, west of the
proposed Jordan Road extension and north of Stroh Ranch.
