Castle Rock firefighters rush to extinguish a car fire Sunday in
Castle Rock. Left, the car burns. Police are investigating the
fire, which destroyed an abandoned vehicle at a construction site
on Heritage Avenue in Founders Village. Witnesses reported seeing
three youths run from the car before the fire was noticed. The
Colorado license plate found on the 1986 Ford Taurus belonged to a
1986 Honda, police said. Investigators also found another license
plate and several bullet slugs and shell casings in the car. The
case still is being investigated, officers said.
