The Douglas Board of County Commissioners approved plans Feb. 14
for four new development proposals.
At the northeast corner of Interstate 25 and E-470, developers
soon will build on 20 commercial lots on 150 acres.
The Bradbury planned development is north of E-470, south of
Inverness Business Park, west of Centennial Airport and east of the
Castle View Heights subdivision.
The original Bradbury plan was approved by the commissioners in
1992. The Soil Conservation District opposed the disturbance of
wetlands along Cottonwood Creek.
Several new roads, the future Southeast Corridor light rail
parking lot and a E-470 Cottonwood interchange will be built at
Bradbury.
Another project at the southeast corner of I-25 and E-470 in the
Meridian International Business Center got approval to build on 16
lots on 109 acres. The planning commission approved the project
Nov. 27.
The Chatfield Farms sketch plan was approved for 380 homes and
two commercial buildings on 249 acres north of Roxborough Village.
It is west of the intersection of Rampart Range Road and Waterton
Road. Preliminary zoning approval was given in 1999.
The Division of Wildlife said development on the property and in
the area will threaten wildlife corridors that connect Pike
National Forest to Cherokee Ranch and other open-space
properties.
The Roxborough Metro District said the development would help it
fiscally upon completion. Funds were required to go toward schools
and roads. Geological surveyors advised construction methods for
the steeply dipping bedrock underground.
The preliminary plan for 11 large-lot homes on 81 acres at
Rancho Montecito east of Parker was approved. The undeveloped
subdivision is east of Canterbury Crossing and Tomahawk Road and 1
mile south of Parker East Road. Funds were required for schools and
roads.
