A satire on the state of the theater critic, “The Real Inspector
Hound” finds two English theater critics, the pompous, middle-aged
Birdboot (Brady Young) and the scrawny, anxious Moon (Danny
Brothers), passively awaiting the start of their latest assignment,
a murder-mystery taking place in Muldoon Manor, in which Simon
(Jeff Davis), Cynthia (Cheryl Schenk), Magnus (Chase Keaten) and
many other suspects wait for the inspector to arrive and solve the
case.
The second part of the joint production, “Picnic on the
Battlefield,” is a harrowing story of war. Zapo (Aaron Wood), a
soldier, suddenly finds his family, Monsieur and Madam Tepan (Devon
Fanning and Kristen Lee), approaching him on the battlefield with a
picnic basket.
Unable to send them away, they sit down in the middle of a war
and eat lunch. Not long after, the enemy soldier Zepo (Brian
Jakubiak) wanders along until Zapo makes him a prisoner of war.
After several moments of joviality, both soldiers learn that there
is no reason to continue the war and, even though they fight on
different sides, their lives are very much alike.
