The Douglas Public Library District has set its winter reading
program, “Read Your Way into Other Worlds,” which runs through Jan.
31.
To complete the program, participants must read 15 books and
keep track of them on a reading log. Once the log is complete,
readers can take to the library to receive a certificate, a
fantastical kaleidoscope, a chance to win a World Globe and other
surprises.
The library district also will sponsor a special reading program
event, “Care of ‘Magical’ Creatures.” Barbara Huggins will discuss
how to care for various “fantastical” creatures, including an
Argentine boa, tree boa, anaconda, box turtle, iguana and
python.
Advanced registration is recommended. The programs will be at 7
p.m., Jan. 8, at the Lone Tree Library; 7 p.m., Jan. 10, at the
Philip S. Miller Library; 7 p.m., Jan. 16, at the Parker Library;
4:30 p.m., Jan. 22, at the Roxborough Library; 4:30 p.m., Jan. 24,
at the Highlands Ranch Library.
